Rotor Blades' Production Begins in 3 Weeks!

We're thrilled to announce another milestone in our journey: production of our state-of-the-art composite main rotor blades is set to begin right here at PC1 in just three weeks!
10 Apr 2025

This marks the culmination of intensive work and signifies a huge step forward in bringing our advanced rotor technology closer to reality.

The "Recipe" is Complete

Getting to this point required more than just drawing board concepts. Our dedicated engineering team has essentially finalised the complex "recipe" for these high-performance blades.

A massive effort, involved developing the whole predictive tools necessary to to calculate the loads, the performance, and everything else that goes into the design of rotor blades:
    • Loads: Understanding the forces the blades will endure.
    • Performance: Predicting how efficiently they will operate.
    • Structural Dynamics: Optimising the blade's behaviour under various conditions.

From detailing the sectional design to finalising the complete 3D model, we're finally now ready to produce the technology demonstration blades that we're going to use to prove out all of the manufacturing processes.

From Design Files to Physical Form: The Next Three Weeks

With the design locked in, the countdown begins. In approximately three weeks (around the first week of May, 2025), our team in the composite shop at PC1 will begin manufacturing the first set of blades.

Once these blades are produced, they face a demanding testing schedule:
    • Structural Rig Testing: The blades will be put on a dedicated test rig to verify their structural integrity and ensure they match our predictions.
    • Flight Testing: Following successful rig tests, the ultimate validation will come through flight testing.
